Unum is a civic literacy app. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information we collect
We collect push notification tokens solely to deliver bill and official update notifications you opt into. These tokens are stored on our secure server and are never sold or shared with third parties.
During onboarding, you may optionally provide a zip code to identify your congressional district. This zip code is stored on your device and on our secure server solely to deliver relevant notifications.


Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell your data.

Data storage
Your lists, followed bills, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Your zip code and notification preferences are stored on our secure server solely to deliver relevant notifications.

Third-party services
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is used to deliver push notifications, governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Legislative data is provided by the Congress.gov API from the Library of Congress. Zip code to congressional district lookup is provided by the U.S. Census Bureau and Zippopotam.us during onboarding.

Children's privacy
Unum is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
